On October 4th while out riding our bikes, we saw there was activity at OC Fresca, the newest south of the boarder restaurant to launch in San Clemente, CA. It turned out they had a soft launch for family and friends but the manager invited us in.
Located at 1814 N El Camino Real, the developer rehabitated the historic Aquarium Café building. It is not just Mexican food, but all foods south of the border like 3 types of Empanadas from El Salvador, and other plates made from Brazilian recipes, and tastes from Peru. OC Fresca will also be featuring fresh fruit cocktails. From their website, “There’s a healthy Fresca for after walking your dog, surfing, or while you play golf. There’s a healthy tea Fresca when you’re bored or trying to get through your 3pm conference call. There’s a bubbly Fresca. There’s a flat Fresca. There’s a Fresca that’s not too sweet and quenches your thirst. There’s a Fresca that’s more like a tasty vegetable than a fruit. There’s a boozy Fresca that’s killer for your first cheers at happy hour and your Final Final Fresca that stays by your bed as a sign of a good night.”

What are Frescas? Traditionally, agua frescas are a Mexican beverage made from soaking real fruit into a clear jug filled with water and sugar is added. Their version takes fresh-pressed juice, full of nutrients, and adds a component of water plus a small amount of agave as a natural sweetener. This is their base agua fresca. With their fresh-pressed agua fresca as the base ingredient, we make various flavors of fruit-forward cocktails that will blow your mind! We also offer Fresca teas, sparkling Frescas, and a killer beer selection (our owners came from the brewing industry). Their food is SoCal/Mexican inspired meant to pair perfectly with our Frescas and will keep you coming back for more.
